The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) is the national association of evangelical Christians in Canada. Since 1964 the EFC has provided a national forum for Evangelicals, fostered ministry partnerships, conducted research on religious and social trends and provided a constructive voice for biblical principles in life and society.
The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada needed a new presence to give their audience access to the thousands of pages of content they have generated for denominations, ministry organizations, post-secondary educational institutions and individual congregations. The information needed to be made accessible in an intuitive manner. They also wanted to integrate their publication Faith today and manage both web presences from the same platform.
We assisted EFC with the creation of a solid taxonomy for their vast content library. Five individual Themes were created to structure the content with 29 individual Topics relevant to one or more of these themes. The content structure was translated into a prototype showing the website architecture .
Based on the prototype we built the websites for EFC and for Faith Today, making all information accessible on an intuitive web platform with a visually appealing user interface. The website also integrates with a third party solution for non-profits to facilitate donations and donor engagement.
The EFC website was launched in January 2017 with about 5,000 pages of content. Over the years we have seen massive improvements in traffic and engagement. The number of users has grown more than ten-fold from about 9,000 in 2016 to about 120,000 in 2021, generating almost 300,000 pageviews per year.
EFC currently manages more than 7,000 pages of content on both websites with an efficient content management platform. Their team of web editors work from different locations throughout Canada, and content is published using a sophisticated content staging and approval process.
